Render pipeline compatibility

The Built-in Render Pipeline is Unity’s default render pipeline. It is a general-purpose render pipeline that has limited options for customization. The Universal Render Pipeline (URP) is a Scriptable Render Pipeline that is quick and easy to customize, and lets you create optimized graphics across a wide range of platforms. The High Definition Render Pipeline (HDRP) is a Scriptable Render Pipeline that lets you create cutting-edge, high-fidelity graphics on high-end platforms.

Template project uses URP. Manual changes would be required for use with other render pipelines.

Template project demonstrating pressure washer/dirt cleaning mechanics.

WEBGL DEMO available online to try.

Dirt mask texture required per mesh. RGB channels represent the opacity of each dirt layer for the object. Software such as Blender can be used to paint these textures quickly.

- Get percentage of dirt cleaned.

- "Dirt view" - highlight dirty areas.

- Auto clean threshold, clean up to this amount and the object will auto clean the rest to accommodate for accessibility.

Technical details

Meshes need non-overlapping UVs and a dirt mask texture where the RGB channels represent the opacity of each of the 3 dirt layers on the mesh.

For mesh renderers only, not supported for skinned mesh renderers.

GameObject requires a Mesh Collider.
